European Union. The Commission publishes the catalogue of FP6 projects involving stem cells
The European Commission recently made publicly available the catalogue of projects funded under the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) that involve the use of stem cells in their research work. The list includes projects that are still under way and will be updated regularly. It includes the names of participants and an abstract of each project, along with additional information and links, when available.
Potential FP7 participants with an interest in stem cell research will find the catalogue useful for identifying possible partners and finding out more about European research in this field.
It is important to remember that stem cell research is still an issue of debate both in the EU and the United States because of its ethical implications. Moreover, it has been a controversial point during the approval of FP7, and project proposals involving stem cell research undergo strict ethical reviews.
