Japan. RCLIP at Waseda University administers a database on IP case law around the world

The Research Center for the Legal System of Intellectual Property Law (RCLIP) at Waseda University (Japan) is running a project to create an IP precedents database to gather information about the most relevant decisions on intellectual property adopted in Asian countries.

The project has recently extended to Europe, for example in the database summaries of decisions from Germany, France, and Italy. For the realization of the project, RCLIP has teamed up with the Center for Advanced Study & Research on Intellectual Property (CASRIP) of the University of Washington School of Law (USA). In addition other European nations, such as Spain and the U.K., will be included too in the future.

The database constitutes an excellent information tool for research institutions and law firms looking for IP case law around the world. Each case features an RCLIP number for citation purposes. All users are kindly requested to use this reference when citing the document in a paper or other document.
