European Union. Switzerland became an Associated Country in the FP6 in January 2004
 
On January 1, 2004, Switzerland became an Associated Country in the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6). This country had already the same statute under the Fifth Framework Programme (FP5).

From the above-mentioned date, Swiss researchers are thus considered as European researchers, and will consequently have the same rights and obligations.
