The Commission launches a consultation procedure for the review of the European legislative framework in the field of copyright and related rights

The European Commission recently launched a process of review of the European legislative framework in the field of copyright and related rights. The aim of the review is to eliminate eventual inconsistencies among the related Directives, as well as to enhance the existing provisions in a way sound with the correct functioning of the Internal Market.

Under this initiative, the Commission has already published a working paper and launched a consultation process on the issue, in order to assess the interested parties' views before moving forward with possible changes of the relevant legislation next year.
