INNO-vention

INNO-vention, a Specific Support Action co-funded by the European Commission DG enterprise, offers European companies the opportunity to establish new business contacts and to benefit from Technology Transfer concepts in a rapid, efficient and target-oriented way across technologies and branches focusing on the textiles, automotive and aerospace industries.

Since innovations, and the related IPR issues, are essential for a company‘s competitiveness today, knowledge transfer across technologies and branches is important, but, until now, successful Technology Transfer conclusions have required the concurrent involvement of multidisciplinary teams, making the Technology Transfer (TT) time consuming and resource intensive.

INNO-vention, coordinated by D’Appolonia, the Italian agency responsible for the European Space Agency Technology Transfer Program since 1990, will implement cutting-edge methodological developments in the field of Collaborative Technology Transfer and will maximise the use of existing information resources, supporting companies throughout the Technology Transfer, including:

  • Technology Scouting

  • Opportunity Assessment

  • Sectoral Needs Identification

  • Product Conception

  • Intellectual Property Rights Management

  • Need and Offer Linkage

  • Partner Identification

  • Financing

  • Brokerage

For this purpose, INNO-vention will benefit from the opportunities provided by the project partners who will provide different skills and knowledge:

  • D’Appolonia (IT), the coordinator, an engineering and consultancy company with a highly qualified staff consisting of more than 200 engineers active in almost all technological and industrial fields

  • DITF-MR (GE), the Centre for Management Research belonging to the German Institutes for Textile and Fibre Research Denkendorf (DITF)

  • University of Alicante (ES), co-ordinator of the European IPR-helpdesk, whose role is to assist companies in exploiting benefits of valuable ideas

  • APRE (IT), member of the IRC network, the Italian Agency for the Promotion of European Research

  • Bayern Innovativ (GE), member of the IRC network, the corporation for innovation and technology transfer in Bavaria

  • Capital High Tech (FR), a private consulting company specialised in the management of technology transfer processes, particularly in the area of Space

  • FIRE (PL), the Polish foundation for Innovation

INNO-vention will offer an initial set of ten “pilot cases” for a specific group consisting of “Innovation Champions”, i.e. SMEs and Large Enterprises with in-depth experience in successful innovation or with relevant interest in Technology Transfer.

Their main role is to support the identification of cutting-edge technology gaps and innovation needs.

The Innovation Champions will be directly involved in the definition of the Pilot Cases and will be the first target community of project results and findings.

There will be some very important benefits for the Innovation Champions:

  • to have the possibility to promote their needs, offers or visions as Pilot Cases to be investigated confidentially by the Technology Transfer specialists of the INNO-Vention Team

  • to gain direct insight into innovative concepts for Technology Transfer in their sector

  • to experience Collaborative Technology Transfer and Inventive Problem Solving within an international and multidisciplinary working group
