Barcelona (Spain), 15-17 December 2002. 4th EUTIST-IMV Review
 
From 15 to 17 December 2002, the 4th EUTIST-IMV Review will take place in Barcelona (Spain) hosted by the Centre de Visi� per Computador (CVC). The IPR-Helpdesk will give a IPR tutorial on 16 December.

EUTIST-IMV is an initiative supported by the European Commision the main purpose of which is to help European companies to innovate and improve their businesses by using machine vision technology. EUTIST-IMV is running different pilot projects in which technology providers and users are collaborating to improve business processes.

Apart from the revision of the development of their projects, the attendees will receive training on very important aspects of research and innovation, such as intellectual property rights (IPR).

The IPR-Helpdesk tutorial will be divided in two main parts:

-IPR overview: value for the enterprise

-IPR within EC Framework Programme projects (FP5 and FP6)

Issues such as trade secrets, employees� creations, IP protection, licensing and dispute resolution will be addressed in the first part of the tutorial. The second part will focus on important IP aspects of projects under FP5 and FP6, such as the relevance of a consortium agreement; ownership of results and their protection; access rights; and use and dissemination. Attention will be paid to the main differences between FP5 and FP6.
