European Union. Examination and registration of Community Design officially started on 1 April 2003
Even though the first applications for Community Designs have been filed at the Office for the Harmonisation in the Internal Market (OHIM) since 1 January 2003, the official starting date was yesterday, 1 April 2003. All applications received before that date are to be considered as received on 1 April 2003. The examination of the applications also started on this day.
Both the European Commission and the OHIM have published a list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on the Community Design system in order to inform interested parties.
Besides, the OHIM published the first issue of the Community Design Bulletin. The Bulletin includes an introduction in the eleven official EU languages, providing information about the structure and codes used, and a Vademecum with other useful data.
